Hello everybody!
Welcome to our brand new website! This is our very first blog post, so thank you for spending some of your valuable time learning more about Ao-chan!
We’ve spent the past two months pouring a lot of effort into making this happen. Although we’ve contributed to other works before, this will be our very first, very own original to publish, and we’re incredibly excited you’re all along for the journey. We hope the finished game will be just as enjoyable as the development has been so far!
Meet The Team
My name is genophobist and I am the in charge of the art, writing and management! I started this project as a gag (sorry Ao!) after reading a joke online, thinking “Wouldn’t it be funny if that were a game?” and it seems I fell into a bit of a rabbit hole. My bad! I spend almost all my time exclusively working on Ao-chan, writing the script, going over it everyday (and second guessing every word, ahhh!), drawing Ao’s pure, beautiful face again and again until my fingers bleed and posting to social media as often as I can.
We’re really lucky to have come across Xscalius, our lead developer who, alongside his day job and running his own social media platform (check it out in his links! Credits page!), decided to help us out. Like a wizard he manages to pump out build after build in record time, surprising us with his knowledge and ingenuity every time. Outside of his duties as the lead developer he has also been working on other relevant tasks, such as setting up and hosting this website, so make sure to thank him!
We met our animator Catsuyu through an acquaintance who was interested in the project and referred us to his services. He’s been so pleasant to work with and very reliable, taking the time to discuss every step of the process and show us how to layer drawings in order to effectively animate using Live2D. He has worked diligently to get you all the stunning animations, so let’s thank him!
And lastly, there’s a mystery fourth member who will be taking care of the music for this project. They’re a person we have enjoyed listening to for a while now, and it’s really exciting they offered to join us! …
Everybody has their own reasons and passions, but we are united in wanting to see Ao-chan succeed and be a fun experience for players and supporters! Thank you so much everybody for your continued trust in us!
What To Expect
Seeing as this is our first “official” game release, we don’t want to make promises about release dates that we can’t confidently keep.
We know from experience that unexpected things can come up and suddenly turn a few weeks of work into a few months. But what we CAN promise is that Ao-chan will, at the very least, receive a playable demo we intend to release on steam as far as guidelines allow it.
Ao’s chapter alone will take an estimated 2-4 additional months of development. That’s already a significant amount of work for a small team, and creating a full game on top of that would require us to be able to dedicate substantially more time to development. We hope to achieve that with your support!
We would like to create at least five additional girls with their own personalities, stories and endings, with a raise in quality and faster releases, all in the span of a year, if possible. We will let the supporters vote and explore different themes, topics and kinks together, as a community! Let’s all look forward to Ao-chan’s arrival!
